Stinks they locked up the free version but $1 isn't a whole lot when it means not having to waste time converting to H.264 and then editing. Happy to help! I did a quick search for what I suspected... looks like CLog3 uses 10-bit colors, which isn't supported by the free version of Resolve (and I would assume WMP as well). You have a couple options... pay for the full version of resolve, use a different editor, or convert to 8-bit colors (try Handbrake.fr... it can handle 10 and 12 bit colors). Please share what you try in case someone else has the same issue. If you haven't, would you mind giving the video a subscription to help others find this information? If not, no worries. @DungeonsAndDiving I resolved it by converting the video file with VLC Player. But just to let you know the file size reduces to 5 MB from 120 MB in this case. Which means I am loosing lot of data in the conversion. May be without clog3 it will have more data :( ruclips.net/user/shortsDo78a4OgYf8

Happy to help! You're absolutely correct in that the file size will drop with conversion dropping down to 8-bit color... but that's a HUGE drop. Make sure you don't delete your original files.... you can't recover that data if you need it later. HEVC isn't really the problem. It's simply an encoding mechanism. It's not a different concept than H.264, just able to compress it further... i.e. same quality, smaller disk usage. I wasnt going to keep trying to find the issue if this video didnt answer it lmao ​@DungeonsAndDiving by the way, our fleet of laptops we bought dont qualify for this microsoft hevc thing to work. But of course, the free one said it wouldnt work, the 99 cent one did not say that. But after we bought it for each laptop, then they told us that it wouldnt work either. So yea we still cant edit any of the filming we have done. Were just shutting down. This is such a stupid problem we look like absolute idiots and lost our investors. Rip.

If you can't get HEVC to work on your hardware, don't give up. Check out Handbrake (free @ handbrake.fr) and convert from HEVC/H.265 to H.264. The older codec should work fine on older hardware. My solution was to help avoid people wasting time converting the videos but if you can't run HEVC, then convert baby convert!!! Hoping this is an option for you still.

If you can't get the CODEC for whatever reason, you could download Handbrake (handbrake.fr) and convert to H.264 format. Your editing software should be able to handle that natively. What CPU do you have? If it's older, it might not support HEVC. In that case, you can convert from HEVC/H.265 to H.264 using Handbrake (handbrake.fr). It's free but trying the codec was to avoid wasting time converting... but if that's your only option, I'd take it.

Can you edit each video on its own? Curious if one of them is borked...

Try uninstalling both the codec and Resolve... then install the codec first, then resolve second. Sometimes apps don't like to play nice with stuff installed afterwards. Let me know if it works!

1. What's the file type (i.e. the extension) 2. What operating system 3. what CPU (if windows, press win-key, then about this computer -> Processor info here) 4. where are you getting the message that it's unsupported? I have a worst case scenario work-around for ya but would like to help you getting HEVC working as it's less time consuming.

@@DungeonsAndDiving I'm on a Winndows 10 system with a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. The file is a .MP4 and should be a H.265 if my research is correct. I'm getting the unsupported message in both the media player and Movies and TV apps on my system. When I import the files to Davinci it doesn't actually give the the media offline warning, it just gives me the audio form the file.

​@@ajstacey723 Ok so to verify the media... open it in VLC and press CTRL-I (that's i as in igloo) then click on the CODEC tab. It should show you in Stream 0 what the codec is. You could try to uninstall the HEVC codec and Resolve.. then reinstall (in order) the codec and then resolve. I've found that sometimes Resolve just didn't realize it could handle it. As a last resort (and more time consuming) you could try to convert the video from HEVC/H.265 to H.264 using Handbrake(handbrake.fr). It's free.. but you have to wait for the conversion before you can edit the resulting video file. BUT it should work and get you editing... just takes more time, which is what I was trying help you guys all avoid... cuz no sense in wasting time!

@@ajstacey723 BTW your processor and Win10 are NOT the problem. Both support HEVC.

You shouldn't have this issue with OSX. Apple has their own HEVC codec that comes with all new macs. If you're having this issue on mac, see if you can open the video with other programs. Worst case scenario, you could convert to H.264 with Handbrake (handbrake.fr/downloads.php). It's free, just takes the conversion time, which is why I didn't want to do it myself.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking into options for zooming in or maybe just changing font sizes for future videos. Also, I didn't realize the newer versions of Ghidra have dark mode! When you open Ghidra (before loading a project), you can go to the following menu to change it: Edit -> Theme -> Switch -> <your theme here> I like Flat Dark Theme.

1. Nah, SO is a valuable resource especially when you have questions about even the slightest issues such as VS errors that you're just missing something stupid lol. 2. Can't turn off phone, need it on for work 24x7 (not giving away what that is though... well not for at least another 1.5 years) 3. Step into with F11 is nice... didn't remember the hot key and will keep it in mind now! =) 4. Yeah it's absolutely fine on my screen but others mentioned the size issue post-recording. I'm looking into local magnification options rather than scaling cuz big text bothers me... lol 5. But I like Brave. 1000 - 7. No. =P But overall, love the comments and conversation.

LOL Mainly C and Python... I decided to try this in C++ to see what differences there were between doing this in C vs C++. Hint: like 3 lines had minor changes. Also, I can read JS much much more than I write in it since I'm not much of a web dev.

I am JS developer myself, I only use braces just like in the video :D
